CLOTHING STAPLES

1. Adventure Sandals (~$50-75)

While there will always be the debate of the brands Teva versus Chaco, the fact of the matter is that any granola girl would be elated to receive either as a gift. Both brands are comfortable, lightweight, durable, and relatively affordable. They were first created in the ’80s for river adventurers, but today the sandals are trendy and worn on the daily by outdoors enthusiasts of all kinds. Here are my favorites:

Teva Women’s Original Universal Sandal

This is the OG Teva sandal, and it comes in 30+ colors. It’s vegan, durable, quick-drying, comfortable, and recyclable.

Teva Women’s Hurricane XLT2

This is much like the above except with more traction and not as many color options.

Chaco Women’s Z/1® Classic Sandal

One of Chaco’s all-time best sellers, the Z sandals are highly adjustable. Check out the Z/2 for an added toe strap!

2. Beanies ($5-30)

Beanies don’t need an explanation. Here are two go-to brands:

Carhartt Men’s Knit Cuffed Beanie

This beanie is tried and true. You can’t go wrong with this classic brand-name beanie.

Madewell Resourced Cotton Cuffed Beanie

Madewell, being a well-known brand, is not so well-known for their beanies, but they are amazing!

3. Overalls ($50-100)

I’d reserve this recommendation for the granola girls who like plants, DIYs, and/or homesteading. OK… that’s almost all of us.

Duluth Women’s Heirloom Gardening Bib Overalls

I get a burst of serotonin just putting these overalls on. They’re long, comfortable, covered in useful pockets, and even a bit stretchy. Plus – multiple lengths are offered! This option is for someone who will truly wear them to work outside and get dirty.

Free People We The Free Ziggy Denim Overalls

Free People overalls are popular, beautiful, and comfortable! These are the more fashionable and trendy option.

4. Anorak-style Jacket ($50-75)

L.L.Bean wins when it comes to the Anorak-style jacket. They “took the classic design of [their] original anorak, updated it with a modern fit and added fun heritage-inspired details.” It is wind and water resistant, and they have multiple styles with unique features.

L.L.Bean Women’s Mountain Classic Anorak, Multi-Color

This anorak comes in many, multi-colored options. It is stylish, thin layer for wind and water protection, which will take you from the town to the trails. Look for insulated versions, too!

5. Workwear Style Boots ($100-200)

Blundstone Women’s Classic 550 Boots

Blundstones were originally produced as work-wear boots, and they are renowned for their longevity and durability. They are high quality and have great shock absorption, so they are a great everyday boot.

GRANOLA GIFTS FOR CAMPING

6. Outdoor Blankets ($30-150)

Outdoor blankets (aka camp blankets) are great because of their versality. They can be used for camping, picnics, beach trips, at sports games, and more.

Rumpl The Original Puffy | National Parks Collection

Rumpl released a National Parks collection with a beautiful scene featured on each option. This blanket is puffy, warm, water-resistant, machine-washable, and made from 60 recycled bottles. I won this at an event and use it every time I go car camping!

ENO FieldDay Blanket

This ENO blanket is a similar option to the above but thinner and with a lower price point. It has a fleece lining and a nylon water-resistant shell.

Mexican Blankets

These are always a great, inexpensive gift option. They are cute, thin, and lightweight.

7. Cooking Sets and Stoves ($20-100)

Odoland 6pcs Camping Cookware Kit

This inexpensive kit is great for getting a granola girl into cooking her own food while camping. It’s basic, lightweight, and gets the job done! I personally use this one when I camp since I don’t want anything fancy.

Stanley Adventure Series Prep+Eat 9-Piece Frying Pan Set

This is a 9pc nesting set perfect for stir-frying while camping. It’s compact and space saving but still manages to have a cutting board and trivet.

Coleman Gas Camping Stove

This stove can hold a 12in pan and is very powerful for its price range. It’s the perfect granola gift for glamping and can come in handy when the power is out!

Aeropress Go Portable Travel Coffee Press Kit ($40)

The travel version of the Aeropress can make 1-3 servings of espresso-style coffee- without bitterness or grit. Just add coffee and water, stir, and press!

GAMES

8. Nature Board Games ($40-75)

As a granola girl who also loves games, I get extra thrilled when I get to play a nature-themed game. I highly recommend the following:

Wingspan ($65)

1-5 players | 40-70 min playing time

Wingspan is a competitive, card-driven board game where you are a bird enthusiast “seeking to discover and attract the best birds to your network of wildlife preserves.” This game is one of my personal favorites, and it is perfect for the bird-loving granola girl.

Parks ($45)

1-5 players | 40-70 min playing time

Hike along different trails, take in the sights, and experience the beauty of America’s parks. You’ll score points by visiting as many parks as you can!

Cascadia ($40)

1-4 players | 30-45 min playing time

This game is set in the Pacific Northwest! Earn Points by fulfilling wildlife goals and creating the largest habitat.

9. Card Games for Camping (~$40-75)

Sitting in a tent and playing a card game makes for a super fun night. It may help distract the group from the strange noises outside the tent…

Exploding Kittens ($20)

2-5 players | 15 min playing time

Exploding Kittens is still the #1 most-funded Kickstarter and has won many awards. It’s fun, cute, and only takes 2 minutes to learn!

Unstable Unicorns NSFW ($20)

2-8 players | 30-45 min playing time

Unstable Unicorns is similar to Exploding Kittens. Both games involve collecting cards and playing them, but the cards you play need to be chosen carefully. This, however, is my personal favorite because the cards are absolutely hilarious!

UNO Flip ($7)

2-10 players | 15 min playing time

UNO Flip has a fun and easy twist, making it more competitive and interesting than standard UNO. It’s a great game to play while camping with a group because the rounds are fast and there is zero learning curve.

OUTDOOR TECH

10. Solar Powered Charging ($40+)

Powertraveller Falcon 21 Solar Panel ($175)

Charge your laptops and netbooks under 40W, tablets, smartphones, GoPros, GPS and other 5V and 20V devices with the power of the sun.

Hiluckey Outdoor USB C Portable Power Bank ($47)

This power bank can charge an iPhone to 50% in 30 minutes, and is compatible with cell phones and tablets. Great for camping!

11. Flashlight Taser ($15+)

VIPERTEK VTS-195 Stun Gun ($22)

Any granola girl who enjoys solo hikes needs a form of protection. A flashlight stun gun is perfect and wouldn’t make anyone bat an eye. Check this one out; the brand is reliable and this version is rechargeable.

12. GoPro ($200-500)

GoPros are revolutionary for outdoor sports including hiking, skiing, snowboarding, biking, etc. It’s small and compact, lightweight, yet has amazing resolution and stabilization. Decide between a Hero 9, 10, and 11 here. No affiliate links here; I have found you should buy direct from GoPro for the best overall deal.

GARDEN

13. Bird Feeders ($5-300)

Clearly you can pick up a bird feeder anywhere, but check out these extra cool options! Any bird-loving granola girl will be thrilled to receive these as gifts, or if she isn’t obsessed yet, these gifts will fuel the instant obsession.

NETVUE Birdfy Lite- Smart Bird Feeder ($215)

The NETVUE bird feeder has a built in camera and associated phone app to provide up-close views and bird identification. Get real time notifications and watch from anywhere!

Nature Anywhere Clear Window Bird Feeder ($30)

All you need to set this bird feeder up is a window! It has 4 heavy duty suction cups so you can get a great view from your kitchen or home office window. This comes with extra entertainment if there are cats in the house!

14. Insect Hotels ($10+)

Niteangel Natural Wooden Insect Hotel ($22)

This insect nest box provide a safe environment where garden creatures can shelter, hibernate and lay their eggs. It will attract the beneficial insects including ladybugs and lacewings which help keep plants pest free.

15. Seeds ($5+)

15 Herbs Seed Pack – Heirloom & Non GMO ($23)

A great gift is a variety pack of seeds! This one includes 15 popular herbs and a reusable, sealable bag for the unused seeds.

Regional Wildflower Seed Mix – Midwest ($15)

If you have ever heard your granola friend complain about grass lawns, buy regional wildflower seeds (I am begging you)! Linked is a Midwest mix, so just ensure you customize to your region to provide the most benefit to your local ecosystem.

I truly hope this list was helpful as it’s basically just a list of all the things I love the most!
